I just got back from spending a full week working in Atlanta. Your girl went to Marveltown. But not for Marvel — yet.

I’ve spent maybe a full day in Atlanta. But this time…I was all up in it.

Atlanta — man oh man are you a great production town. I instantly felt at home and the homies made sure to take care of me. From helping me crew up an emergency position in mere minutes, getting me waffle house during an insane shoot day…to finally giving me my ideal set day: outside in a beautiful huge park, with golf carts to get around, and taking time out to roast each other. Atlanta — you get me. (Thanks for bringing me out, @maydaymalloy! May we have Save By The Bell puns forever!)

Can we talk about slutty vegan for a second?

I’ve even begged my homie Jim to send me some. He said no. But, he did get me one of their sweatshirts last year — so I guess it’s fine. Or whatever. The wait was worth it. ❤️

Speaking of Jim — if you know him, getting him outside can be challenging. In the last 12 months, I’ve gotten him to do that 3 times. Am I magic? Nah. But for two kids who met 20 years ago at Magic Kingdom — the fact we’re still friends IS magical. (Youthful photo at the end!) Now everyone bully him until he comes to Texas. Thanks.

Speaking of visiting — I’ve never had set visits before! And for my first time — I got two. Jim came through of course. But also, My Mama!

Atlanta is about 5 hours away from my parents, and my Mom roadtripped to hang out with me for a long weekend. I don’t get to hang out with just my Mom one on one that much — so this was a dream. On our fitting day, as I was walking out the airbnb, my Mom handed me a muffin in a lunch bag for breakfast.

I was 8 again.

I spent the whole time working on my computer, but having dinner and just talking while I worked was so good for my soul. ❤️❤️❤️
