Number Seven

Go See the Red Woods In Person

(aka go where you’re small to feel big)

After my mammoth of a job in LA, my friend Bonnie and I both descended onto San Francisco for a girls’ weekend!

We had a few goals this weekend — but number one with a bullet was seeing some Red Woods.

We woke up early on Saturday, drove up some windy roads, lost reception, and hit the hiking trail.

It goes without saying that these beauties are massive and majestic. So glad we did this. And so glad I got to see them up close.

But that hike was not enough.

My friend Bonnie, doing the Bonnie!

Nope! We then drove a bit more to a former army base by the Pacific Ocean. Now this, babyyyyy, was a hike!

We’re talking elevations, we’re talking wildlife, we’re talking dogs aplenty, and we’re talking some of the most beautiful coastal landscapes I have seen since I went to Ireland.

If I lived there, you’d catch me there every chance I had. Also, I’d always be at Hog Island Oyster Co.

I have dreamt of this oyster spot every day since I went with my former running homies, Deja, and her sister Katelyn after a marathon a kajillion years ago.

It was the perfect weekend trip and the carrot guiding me through my week. I would not have changed a thing. Especially not our beachside Airbnb. 🥰

Shoutout to Bonnie for indulging me and my to-do list. She even helped me with another of my to-dos, which I’m still working on. ❤️
